A step stool for everyday moments.

I’ve always been drawn to the quiet beauty of stair-like forms — grounded, humble, and quietly mysterious. There’s a certain charm in how something so simple can quietly become part of daily life — always present, never loud.

It naturally takes on many roles: a seat, a side table, a step, a small bookshelf — a quiet helper that moves with the rhythm of the home.

When I began thinking about what to make it from, red oak came to mind almost at once. Often used for stair treads across North America, it’s strong, accessible, and beautifully grained. I was drawn to its weight, the texture under the hand, and the warmth it brings into a space. It felt just right — where material and form meet in quiet balance.
